Round 3.

No one has been more excited about the RBS 6 Nations being back then we are. With the competition back this weekend and heating up we are back to make our predictions.

BUT FIRST…
First we have to talk about the elephant in the room, Finn Russell. With the citing commission banning Russell for two weeks, and today the appeal being rejected, Russell will miss the Italy game this weekend. Was the tackle (or non tackle) a yellow card offence? Was it worth a 2 week ban?
We at RugbyPlus don't agree with a 2 week ban but the safety of players must always come first. When you touch any player who is in the air you risk not only their health but also your time on the pitch. Always be careful, health and yellow cards are on the line.

With the injury list growing longer and longer, on both sides, this game will definitely be a lively affair. Italy have been strong but not showing any real sparks in this years tournament, but in the past Scotland have always been a scalp which can be taken. But the rise of Scotland this year, with nearly taking the scalps of Wales and France, Scotland must fancy their chances.
We predict SCOTLAND WIN.

Both victors over Scotland, this game will lines up as an exciting end to end game, but unfortunately we don't see this being all that it is billed. France have not shown their usual beautiful flare and artistic ball control, instead resorting for scrappy play and desperation. Wales on the other hand are beginning to show the dragons roar again, this weekend could prove the rise of Wales again.
We predict WALES WIN.

This is the clash of the titans this year. These two power houses could not have asked for more in the run up to this years game. Both teams holding an unbeaten run, both carrying a few injuries but also showing massive potential. Only one giant can rule the land of rugby, in this important year… but who can rise at the chief?
We predict IRELAND WIN.

ROUND 2

What a first weekend of the RBS Six Nations. England, Ireland and France proving too powerful for their opponents, but the big talking point of the week has been George North and the issues surrounding concussion. Remember if you have a head injury always tell someone and seek medical advice, nothing as important than your head.

Unfortunately RugbyPlus was proven wrong on two out of the three predictions, although this week we are much more confident.

England v Italy:
If the same England team turns up as did against Wales then this is an easy one. Italy scared Ireland for 60 minutes and showed they can really play some heavyweight rugby. But even if Italy play at their best England will dominate at the breakdowns.
Our Prediction: ENGLAND WIN

Ireland v France:
After a slow start last week against Italy we are really hoping for Ireland to up their game here. France performed fantastically against Scotland but away from home and in the mighty heartland of the Aviva Stadium we have to see the current champions march closer to this year’s title.
Our Prediction: IRELAND WIN

Scotland v Wales:
Scotland performed fantastic last weekend but unfortunately couldn't get the points to beat the old foe. Wales suffering a lost to England will be out to prove themselves against Scotland. Maybe Scotland can do the big upset of the weekend and give Wales one of their worst starts in years, but on recent form unfortunately we have to say it looks like the dragon will rise.
Our Prediction: WALES WIN.

ROUND 1

The wait is over, the winter is beginning to clear and spring is in the air, this means only one thing, ITS SIX NATIONS TIME. Today sees the start of the 2015 RBS Six Nations and we at RugbyPlus promise to keep you updated with our predictions and round up to the one of the most anticipated tournaments in the Rugby calendar.

The opening game is always a spectacle as both teams lay out their stall for the tournament. No two bigger titans could be better suited to the occasion than Wales and England. The odds are definitely in favour of Wales, the high injury count to England and the unbeatable home support will spur the boys on. Yes the roof is to remain open but the singing will just have to be even louder then.                   Our Prediction: WALES WIN.

A trip to Rome is not as easy as it used to be, in the past the Italians have been a nuisance to many of the big teams, mainly France. Could the Italians upset the favourites this year? Its unlikely. Their recent form and the underwhelming performances of the teams in the pro12 does not fill us with hope for the Italians, but hopefully we will see some colourful rugby at least.                                              Our Prediction: IRELAND WIN.

France can be a slow starter to the six nations, often finding first games to be messy and uncontrolled. This may play well to Scotland, who enter the tournament this year after a fantastic run of form in the Autumn Internationals. If Scotland can replicate against France the performances they put in against Argentina and New Zealand then we see no reason that Scotland cant take the French scalp in their own back yard.                                                                                 Our Prediction: SCOTLAND WIN.
